What Happens When You Decide to Put Yourself Back In The Picture?
Mid-life reinvigoration, an emptier nest, and the everyday resets that stick.

EPISODE 6
HELLO, HAPPY SUNDAY!
There’s a moment when the background hum of “I’m fine” gets so loud you realise… you’re not. And that is what we are chatting about in this week’s A Grown Up’s Gap Year – The Podcast. You won’t be guided to a reinvention montage. No green-juice redemption arc. Just a smart mid-life woman noticing the wobble, pressing pause, and choosing everyday resets that actually stick.
This week, I introduce Prue Francis – raised on a cattle and horse stud in NSW; now co-owner of an agricultural consultancy in Wagga Wagga – about the day she named the wobble: puffy, overwhelmed, tired, lonely. From there, she made everyday changes: the GP chat, movement, food that helps, sleep that counts, and a no-performance book club that became a lifeline.
Oh, and how we met? Well that is the GOLD in the conversation.
Practical, candid, immediately usable.
Why not now? Why not you?
Time to put you, back in the picture.

Helping you build a fence around making space for YOU. An article I wrote on my website (lots of other free resources there too!).

The Imperfects
I really enjoyed this episode and it plays beautifully into our theme this week.
‘…Tuning into what our soul is yearning for, Dr Emily discusses how we can intentionally look at generating legacy, combat narratives which suggest “we should have it all worked out”, and maybe even turn our intelligence into a …. um, butterfly…’

Freakier Friday
I’m late to the party – but trusted friends report it is FUN!

A GROWN UP’S GAP YEAR – THE CLUB
If you listened to Prue and thought: ‘I want that sense of connection too’, but your tribe isn’t where you are right now. Well, that’s exactly why I started A Grown Up’s Gap Year – THE CLUB It’s our fledgling Facebook community. A spot where I invisaged women sharing stories, planning escapes (big or small), all to put ourselves back in the picture. JOIN US – come and say hello.

DEAR BLOKES
A love letter (with checklist) from the women who carry the mental load.
Oh hello, blokes. If your nest is emptier, take it as an opportunity and a reset — this might be your proving ground. Ask, who do I want to be in this next act? Think about all the ways your household can be the place the kidults want to return to — not just for laundry and a hot meal, but to see you, to chat, to feel heard. Legacy isn’t just money, or your workplace; it’s who you are now, and what your kids see you modelling. Thank you for listening. Love from us — and here’s to a super week ahead.
Oh and…HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! xxx
